Vintage Sub-Pop “Loser” t-shirt

$200.00
Sold Out

From late 90’s is a Sub Pop original print “Loser” shirt.

The infamous design was brought up in the late 80’s when Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman had started the label but knew they were nobodies in the music industry. They simply had only one desire and that was to break the mainstream mold and be representative of the bands they admired and signed(outsiders). It wouldn’t be for a few years until the shirt became a token of symbolism for the young grunge label and youth all around could wear it to show the distain towards the whole ‘go happy’ number crunching industry vibe.

Today, variations of them still float around the market, bands like Beck did a song “Loser”, and special designers like Jun Takahashi would later reference the piece in his earlier seasons after Scab. This shirt is a black on green print , anvil tag, double stitch so late late 90’s.
